Pantheon Launches National Priorities Partnership Website

Arlington, VA, November 17, 2008 – Pantheon is proud to announce the launch of a website for the National Priorities Partnership, www.nationalprioritiespartnership.org, a diverse group of organizations committed to transforming healthcare convened by the National Quality Forum (NQF). Pantheon aided in the planning and development of the Partnership’s website, which offers visitors an overview of the six “Priority” solutions for achieving transformative healthcare reform in 2009 and beyond. The Priorities identified by 28 Partner organizations that comprise the coalition, offer high-leverage areas for improving healthcare by eliminating waste, disparities, and harm. The website launch completes phase one of the project, which encompassed road mapping, strategy, design, and architecture planning for the Partnership’s website.

The site provides the Partners an online space to collaborate and work to make the Priorities and Goals a reality. Pantheon understood the Partnership’s need to create a platform that would initially convey information on these complex issues in an easy to digest manner and evolve into a truly interactive portal for collaboration among these groups. “We’re very excited the National Quality Forum asked us to launch this site for the National Priorities Partnership. We had the opportunity to work with an incredible organization bringing together groups across the health care industry in a unique way,” explained Mark Tobias, President of Pantheon. “The website we designed for the National Priorities Partnership has an effective design and is built on scalable and flexible architecture powered by Ektron’s CMS400.NET content management software. It is the right long-term platform for what the Partnership wishes to accomplish.”

The site showcases the six National Priorities: patient and family engagement, population health, safety, care coordination, palliative and end-of-life care, and overuse. Because the Partners represent those who pay for, receive, provide and evaluate care – they are in a prime position to bring about fundamental improvements in healthcare. “The Partnership is about transforming healthcare from the inside out,” explained Alicia Aebersold, the National Quality Forum’s Vice President for Communications. “Pantheon’s team asked insightful and provocative questions that challenged and evolved our thinking. They did more than help us think through the design of our site, they helped us uncover ways to best use technology to communicate the Partnership’s message in a simple and effective way. We are extremely pleased with the site developed for the Partnership’s launch and look forward to continuing to make extensive use of the site with Pantheon in our corner.”

In the second phase of the NPP site’s development, Pantheon will develop a “Virtual Workplace” area where Partners can share ideas and best practices, while easily and efficiently working together to improve healthcare.

The 28 National Priorities Partners represent key healthcare stakeholders, including: consumer groups, employers, government, health plans, healthcare alliances, healthcare professionals, scientists, accrediting and certifying bodies, and quality alliances. They include: AARP, AFL-CIO, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Alliance for Pediatric Quality, America’s Health Insurance Plans, American Board of Medical Specialties, American Nurses Association, AQA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology, Consumers Union, Hospital Quality Alliance, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Institute of Medicine, The Joint Commission, Leapfrog Group, National Association of Community Health Centers, National Business Group on Health, National Committee for Quality Assurance, National Governors Association, National Institutes of Health, National Partnership for Women & Families, National Quality Forum, Pacific Business Group on Health, Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement, Quality Alliance Steering Committee, and the U.S. Chambers of Commerce.
