Patient Safety

Patient safety is fundamental to improving health care - the field aims to reduce risks and highlight continuous improvements based on past errors and experiences. We are proud to be contributing to this important field of research with our work on the Patient Safety Network website, ensuring that accurate and useful information is easily digestible to the public.

Risk Adjustment

Risk adjustment is the method of offsetting the cost of providing health insurance for individuals who are considered to have high-risk health conditions. It is the the statistical process of taking certain risks into account when planning for better healthcare outcomes and costs.

Qualified Clinical Data Registries

Qualified Clinical Data Registries (QCDR) aim to improve the health care industry by collecting clinical data from clinicians and reporting it back to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). QCDR’s aim is to develop measures that will help clinicians improve the quality of care provided to patients. Our work with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s National Outcomes Management System collects data in the fields of SLP and Audiology and demonstrates value through advanced reporting.

Claims Adjustment

Claims adjustment is the process of determining coverage, legal liability, and settling a claim taken out by an insured individual.

Performance Measures and Quality Improvement

Performance measures are based on processes and outcomes related to high-quality care. Quality improvement (QI) is the analysis of performance measured data in efforts to test and improve performance. AHRQ QI collects data on performance measures for healthcare systems across the country and provides reporting that informs our understanding of the state of healthcare in the US.

Caregiver and Patient-Centered Care

Support and care for caregivers and patients that focuses on their individual needs and values prior to clinical decisions being made is critical. We’ve built a comprehensive and highly flexible caregiver management system for the Rosalynn Carter Foundation for Caregivers to ensure as many caregivers needs are able to be met as possible.

Electronic Medical Record Integration

EMR Integration that seamlessly collects patient health information and data shared by clinicians enhances the ability of products to collect accurate and timely data. As part of the ASHA NOMS product, we used SMART on FHIR technology to ensure that any health system connected to major EMRs can integrate, reducing the data collection burden on their clinicians.
